SERVICES & HOW IT WORKS
This is a 90 minute session where we will complete an in-depth interview and begin to build our relationship. I will complete a postural and breathing assessment and we will assess general strength and range of motion. We will begin education, and designing your individualized plan of care. At this time, I may also be able to estimate how many appointments it may take to achieve your goals. We will discuss the possible need for an external or internal assessment of the pelvic floor muscles. This foundational session will set the groundwork for you to understand what might be out of balance and begin to build awareness of your pelvic floor and core.
This is a 60 minute session. Content will vary based on progress, symptoms, your questions and your own wishes. Interventions may include manual therapies addressing internal pelvic floor muscles, or external structures: myofascial release, trigger point massage, scar management, visceral mobility and more. We also may include education on bladder training, bowel mechanics, postural assessment and training, development of an individualized home exercise program, proper breathing strategies and training, nervous system regulation strategies, amongst other strategies.
